Have you ever taken time out to observe the pattern of the average Nigerian's daily prayer to his God, whichever he serves; the content, the requests and the ebbing hope 'dare not say faith'???
It commences with praise. A monotonous thanks giving, then a barrage of petitions for Gods help to solve a lot of PROBLEMS even God would be surprised still exists in such a greatly blessed and gifted human society s Nigeria
We pray for provision," not a bad prayer point", it only gets disheartening to know that this provision is for the most basic of human needs FOOD, WATER a ROOF to cover ones head. Throngs of people storm crusade grounds in search for curable DISEASES which either cannot be treated in our HOSPITALS or whose treatment can't be afforded by their meager income...
The Nigerian economic reality has created an overtly 'RELIGIOUS' society because that is a surer means of survival when compared with the governments unfulfilled rhetoric's. Religion has therefore become an escapist route for the mind 'afterall the expectations of the righteous would not be cut short'.. The true essence of religion is therefore relegated to nothing more than a means to beg Beg and BEG.
However, what happens when it becomes apparent that the almighty God would not come down to solve these myriad of self inflicted problems? People are pushed to the wall, as every iota of hope is lost, FRAUD, ROBBERY, and CRIME generally increase and who is to blame? THE PDP GOVERNMENT...
It is my hope that God opens OUR EYES as a NATION to see that he has solved all our challenges by giving us all the necessary natural resources to position us in the LEAGUE OF WEALTHY NATIONS.. All we need do is to ELECT the right PEOPLE to manage those resources...
