I SEE HOPE

I SEE HOPE

Ask not what your country can do for you, but what u can do for your country.... J.F. KENNEDY

I grew up listening to my parents talk about the GOOD OLD DAYS.The days when everybody had food on their tables, the roads were motorable and safe, university students had allowances from government and jobs at their beck and call.

A Nigeria where the Naira was a level higher than the dollar and at par with the pound sterling, a Nigeria where no one queued up either at the embassies or filling stations because we simply didn't need to, where university certificates could favorably compete anywhere in the world, where the people enjoyed free basic education and a working health care system.

I heard about people like the great ZIK of AFRICA, CHIEF OBAFEMI AWOLOWO, ALHAJI ABUBAKAR TAFAWA BALEWA and the likes. Men who exemplified LEAERSHIP by sacrifice, Men who dedicated their lives to developing the nation with their sweats and blood.

They often spoke about the days when it was respectable to be a TEACHER, where to be a politician didn't mean being a THIEF, where corruption was not fashionable and public funds were not arrogated to self.

Fellow Nigerian youth Alhaji Sir ABUBAKAR TAFAWAWA BALEWA said in 1960 that "our pride must never be mistaken for arrogance". If then they could have fought and achieved something to be proud of then it is our time to achieve even better.

This is the beautiful past of our dear beloved Nigeria and it is our duty to create the future that we picture.
I believe in a brighter and greater NIGERIA. I see HOPE, I see INCREASE, I see POSSIBILITIES and above all, I see CHANGE.

OUR TIME IS NOWGOOD PEOPLE; GREAT NATION.
