NIGERIA; VIOLENCE; WAR

Ladies and gentlemen, the events of the past few months have been disturbing. Explosives detonated in the FCT, Bayelsa, Delta and Jos have left the nigerian people in Fear. The new tactic of terrorism adopted by certain clandestine groups in their clamor for yet to be identified causes, have left in its wake blood baths and the death of various innocent Nigerian's.

These occurrences are to me a vital sign of things to come. I think we should critically analyze the sequence of the recent attacks and the visual symbolisms intended for them to create and on which side of the divide we chose to stand.

The first of the series of Bombings occurred on the 1st of october, while the entire country celebrated the 50th anniversary of its independence, killing 35 people. On the eve of christmas when all and sundry prepared to celebrate the birth of jesus, another series of bombs went off in Jos plateau state killing over 70 innocent Nigerian's, again on the eve of the new year another set of explosives were detonated in a military facility in the FCT killing another 17 people and injuring scores

I fear that the government can no longer secure this nation, while various organized forces prepare to levy war against the state, a situation we all cannot afford to experience. the government and security agencies have not been able to give the people a reasonable explanation as to the motives or demands of whoever is responsible for these attacks. It is equally clear that the government cannot solve this challenge alone.

There is a systemic sequence that almost always leads to WAR. It starts with agitation - militancy - terrorism - guerrilla warfare and then full blown WARFARE. Here in Nigeria, militancy has gradually metamorphosed into terrorism.

My fellow Nigerian's, this is a call to service. We can choose to keep mute and live in fear, "which is the intention of these terrorists" and allow BOMB BLASTS become a part of our lives, but If u keep silent on this issue, you have tolerated and encouraged terrorism and the terrorists. We are a peace loving people with a creed of 'unity and faith; peace and progress'. Please we have to come together now more than ever and root these despicable elements out of our society. We can not afford another CIVIL WAR. Its a battle of good and evil, and the Good always wins
